How I work

Therapy looks at unconscious emotions and how they inform your current behavioural patterns.

As a therapist, I will listen and help you feel your way through your emotions, your thoughts, your past triggers, and your traumas.

We will work through your shock responses to certain situations, understand why the behavioural patterns are there, work to calm the nervous system and move towards you thriving instead of surviving.

We might revisit patterns repeatedly until they reach a place of healing and release. You and your emotions will be seen, heard and held as we process them – in mind, body and spirit.

Therapy helps stabilise the nervous system by pausing, reflecting, allowing what needs to come up to surface, for you to come into the body, feel again and ultimately allowing your inner light to shine.

The heart can move into a space of softness and openness where it is able to respond with what you truly need, rather than reacting and pushing difficult feelings away.

You will start to trust your inner wisdom that knows what to do in the present moment.

What is integrative psychotherapy

I work holistically with a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to meet your emotional needs. Our sessions will have an unfolding process and as an integrative psychotherapist, my work is underpinned through the principles of psychodynamic, existential and humanistic therapeutic approaches.

I also work creatively with visualisations, dreamwork, symbols and archetypal imagery to explore the unconscious more deeply.

My training also encompassed exploring wider spiritual aspects known as transpersonal psychology.

Alongside honouring Eastern and Western religious beliefs, we can explore what spirituality means for you in a context of finding a sense of belonging and interconnectedness with a greater whole, accompany you in your search for meaning and purpose in your life as well as delve into spiritual ecology.

Interests and specialisms

Coming from an international and migratory background, I have developed a keen interest in working with cultural issues of identity and belonging, displacement, isolation, and intersectional differences.

I am experienced in working with family dynamics, enmeshment, codependency, inner child work and transgenerational trauma, especially for those clients who are from a multicultural background and feel ‘othered’ by society.
